2022 Scholarship Recipients

The purpose of the Spring Scholarship program was to provide financial support to high school seniors, and/or current college students, attending an accredited two- or four-year college/university, community or junior college, or vocational technical, or trade school.

The Spring 2022 $1,000 Scholarship recipients are/were:

Spring 2022 Scholarship Requirements

Purpose: The purpose of this program is to provide financial support to 10 high school seniors, and/or current college students, attending an accredited two- or four-year college/university, community or junior college, or vocational technical, or trade school.

 

Scholarship Amount: $1,000 per recipient

 

Application Period: March 17 - April 30, 2022

Eligibility Guidelines:

  1. Applicants must be a Buckingham County resident.

  2. Applicant must:

    • be a graduating high school senior; or

    • be a high school equivalency (HSE) or general education (GED) recipient; or

    • be a current student attending an accredited two- or four-year college/university, community or junior college, or vocational technical, or trade school

    • have been accepted to prospective school

  3. This educational support and scholarship program is open to students of all ages. 

 

Application Requirements:

  1. Please submit a short essay, 500-1000 words, describing your ideas on how to make Buckingham County the best place to live, work, and learn for all people.

  2. Please provide two (2) letters of recommendation. (Non-family members)

  3. Please submit a brief biographical summary to describe:

  • Yourself, your community/school involvement, hobbies, activities, and the school you will, or currently, attend

  • How this scholarship will benefit you, and

  • What are your future career goals.
